THE PROCESS OF SCREEN PRINTING...
FLORIDA TSHIRTS TEAM IN ACTION!
All t-shirt jobs begin with a concept which becomes a
digital file. From there the process begins...
STEP 1: The art file must be formatted correctly for
accurate, high-quality color separations. The better the
original image, the better the final printed product will
STEP 2: The artwork is digitally separated into it's specific
individual color components for output onto film.
STEP 3: The individual color film files are printed onto
clear acetate sheets for use on each color specific screen.
I.E. a 3 color job will require 3 pieces of film (one for each
ink color) as well as 3 separate screens.
STEP 4: Each film acetate is then burned onto a screen
coated with light sensitive photo emulsion by shining a UV
light through the screen and film. All areas exposed to the
light are hardened. The remaining area (where the film
blocked out) remain untouched and are rinsed away.
STEP 5: Each individual color screen is set-up on the screen
printing machine and registered to align with the other
screens. They are then filled with each designated color
STEP 6: The shirts are placed, one at a time, onto the
plattens and rotate around to each screen - where each
color image is printed onto it. The shirts come off and go
through a dryer to cure the ink. On the other side... A
finished product is folded, boxed and shipped.
